What is the session timer?
StaffRoom is a secure area. For your protection, you will be automatically signed out after
30 minutes of inactivity — meaning if you stop clicking, typing, or interacting
with the page. The timer in the top bar counts down how much time you have left.
What do the clock colours mean?
Green
More than 15 minutes remaining — all good.
Yellow
Between 6 and 15 minutes left — wrapping up soon.
Red (flashing)
5 minutes or less remaining — time to act!
What is the red warning popup?
When there are 90 seconds left, a warning message will appear on screen.
Click CONTINUE to stay signed in and reset your full 30 minutes,
or click LOG OUT to sign out immediately.
If you do nothing, you will be signed out automatically when the countdown reaches zero.
How do I keep my session active?
Simply keep using the page — any click, keypress, or scroll resets the timer back to
30 minutes automatically. You do not need to do anything special.
What if I have StaffRoom open in multiple tabs?
No problem. If you are actively using StaffRoom in any open tab, all tabs stay active.
An idle tab will not cause you to be signed out as long as another tab is being used.
However, if all tabs are left idle for 30 minutes, you will be signed out of all of them at once.
What happens when I am signed out?
All open StaffRoom tabs will be signed out at the same time. Any unsaved work on the current page
may be lost, so please save regularly. You can always sign back in from the main login page.
Tip: If you need to step away from your desk, click SIGN OUT in the
top menu before you go. This immediately signs you out of all open tabs and keeps your account secure.
