| JOB TEXT: | Description: Reporting to the Assistant Director of Education – Programs, this senior position involves executive level clerical and administrative support duties. The Administrative Assistant serves as an administrative liaison for the AD and Directors of Schools and various stakeholders within the Programs Division for the Central Region of the District. The incumbent will provide oversight for the administrative work of the Programs Division and effectively communicate information on behalf of the Assistant Director. Duties also include the management and organization of confidential correspondence, records and reports; developing meeting agendas; organizing and scheduling meetings and conference calls; making travel arrangements; tracking expenditures; and recording and distributing minutes; and other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong oral and written communication skills, organizational abilities, be self-motivated, and be able to work effectively as a team member and independently. A thorough knowledge of various computer applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite is essential. The successful applicant must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality at all times. These qualifications would normally be acquired through the completion of a two-year Diploma in Office Administration or Business Management from a recognized institution combined with 5+ years in a fast-paced senior administrative role. Please note that flexibility is required, as the incumbent may often times be required to work flexible hours on short notice. Equivalencies may be considered. This is a non-bargaining/non-management position. Salary based on Hay Management Pay Plan. HL 9 ($40,777 - $53,010).
