Full time TERM position for Provincial Program Specialist - Artificial Intelligence, Technology and Innovation. FOS 1 - FOS 10, the home office location is flexible and will be based on the successful applicant's geographic location and subject to office availability. Duties to commence September 8, 2026, and end of June 25, 2027.

This role offers a unique opportunity to act as a catalyst for meaningful educational change. We are seeking a visionary leader who possesses a deep understanding of K-12 pedagogy, comprehensive knowledge of the technology curriculum, and expertise in Artificial Intelligence. The successful candidate will be deeply passionate about empowering educators and transforming learning through innovative technologies.

Reporting to the Senior Management Official for Programs Implementation, as a Program Specialist, your work will align with Standards of Practice, emphasizing ethical responsibility, adult learner development, professional leadership, collaboration, reflective practice, and professional knowledge

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Strategic Vision & Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for integrating AI and innovative technologies

  • Supporting educators with technology curriculum and technology integration

  • Professional Learning Leadership: Design and deliver engaging adult professional learning on AI and innovative technology integration

  • Support & Mentorship: Provide individualized and group support to educators, administrators and other system leaders mentoring them in experimenting with AI and other innovative technology tools, reflecting on impact, and refining practice.

  • Resource Curation & Development: Identify, evaluate, and curate high-quality AI and other innovative technology resources, and develop internal guides for effective integration.

  • Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with appropriate partners to foster a cohesive AI adoption ecosystem, facilitating knowledge sharing among all learning partners

  • Impact Assessment & Iteration: Develop and implement mechanisms to evaluate AI and other innovative technologies impact on teaching and learning, using data to inform practice and ensure continuous improvement

  • Champion Ethical AI Use: Promote awareness of ethical considerations for responsible and equitable AI implementation in education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor of Education

  • Master's degree in education

  • NL Teaching Certificate

  • Background knowledge and experiences relevant to the duties of this position


Annual Teacher Salary Scale contained within the NLTA Provincial Collective Agreement and benefits contained within the agreement.


Applicants without the required qualifications may be considered in accordance with Clause 37.01 (d) of the provincial collective agreement.
