Persalvic Elementary School in Victoria held its 6th Annual Walk To Breakfast the middle of October. This year, Persalvic Elementary school was honored to name the walk in honour of our friend, Dana Cox, who passed away a short while ago. Dana, along with her parents, were breakfast volunteers and avid supporters of the Breakfast Program. Following the walk, students enjoyed a pancake breakfast at school prepared by our volunteers. The Victoria Volunteer Fire Department accompanied students on the walk.
The Kids Eat Smart Foundation of Newfoundland and Labrador helps set up and support child nutrition programs. They believe that children have the right to adequate nutritious food and recognize that good food is fundamental for good health, the ability to concentrate and learn. The Foundation partners with schools, communities, volunteers and sponsors to set up and support nutritious food programs. A sincere thank you to all students, staff, parents, sponsors and community volunteers who helped make our Walk to Breakfast a huge success for our students.
