Newspapers in Education Exposes Students to Journalism

A Grade 2 class at St. Mary's Elementary in St. John's recently learned how to ask the tough questions, as the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and the provincial newspaper, The Telegram, partnered for the Newspapers in Education program.

The students, who are learning about newspapers and about to start their own classroom publication, experienced a mock media scrum about a missing princess and used their skills of inquiry to get to all the details from Media Relations Officer Geoff Higdon.

The Telegram's Tara Bradbury was among the visitors to Ms. Pinsent's class to share some tips and capture the event for their files.
