The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is proud of the participation of many of our schools in the Skills Canada program, which aims to encourage and support a coordinated Canadian approach to promoting skilled trades and technologies to youth. At the national competition held May 31 - June 3 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, the 49 members of Team Newfoundland helped to bring home some 12 medals. Congratulations to all participants and medal winners, particularly the following students from District schools:
Ian Brake – Gold Medal – IT Office Software Applications (Secondary- Holy Spirit High School)
Megan Coles – Silver Medal – Workplace Safety (Secondary- Holy Spirit High School)
Chelsie Cake and Breanna Tilley – Silver Medal – 2D Computer Animation (Secondary- Queen Elizabeth Regional High School)
Matthew Buckingham-Bishop –Bronze Medal – IT Networking (Secondary- Frank Roberts Junior High)
