Level II students of Gill Memorial Academy were proud to receive a honourable mention for their submission to Sharing Our Cultures’ Canada 150 Youth Video contest. The group of 16 students wrote and performed a song titled Canada Bound, inspired by Paul Brandt’s version of Alberta Bound. 

To complete the project, the students created a video consisting of photos displaying what they love about Canada. In addition to the honourable mention, the students received a cash prize and a trip to St. John’s to attend the Festival Celebration. This was a great accomplishment for the school, who worked hard on their entry, and a truly memorable experience for the students involved.
