A wonderful community celebration was held at St. Marks School in King's Cove this September, as students harvested the vegetables planted in Spring as part of outdoor classroom activities. The creation of the outdoor classroom was the result of heard work and dedication of the Community Connections Committee and a number of committed volunteers. Grade 4/5/6s prepared lettuce and toppings, and set up a salad bar in the lunchroom for all to enjoy. Organizers say it was a huge, healthy hit among young learners, as everyone realized that students were involved in every step; from planting to eating!
