Students and teachers from all around the province gathered in Grand Bank in late October to 'Find their Fit' -  the first Provincial Student Leadership Conference held on the Burin Peninsula in 14 years. Approximately 260 students and teachers from 35 schools were eager to participate in the many planned sessions and presentations.

Throughout the three-day conference, students had ample opportunities to 'Find their Fit' through a variety of workshops that teach leadership skills and creative thinking skills. Leaders from the community and province hosted a number of various sessions for students with a wide range of interests. Also, setting the tone for the weekend were two keynote speakers; Katarina Roxon and Andy Thibodeau. The weekend provided student leaders with essential skills to build new clubs and activities in their own schools and communities. Host school, John Burke High School, would like to thank everyone involved in making this weekend a success and encourage everyone to find THEIR fit!
