For a few weeks in advance of Remembrance Day, Roncalli Central High School students were creating artwork in honor of those who serve and have served. Students felt it was very important for them to accurately depict the lives of these individuals and, in essence, get it right!
Some of the images attempt to depict 'through the eyes of a soldier,' in which they drew an eye and then within the eye drew images of poppies, soldiers and memorials among other symbols.
By all accounts, students and staff felt it was a very successful project, which brought into focus a very important day in our school. The halls of the high school proudly displayed the student artwork for Remembrance Day and beyond. As noted by Art teacher Jeremy McPeake and echoed by the students who worked on the project, 'We will remember them.'
