Throughout the year the Newfoundland and English School District seeks the work of Artists, Cultural Mentors, Festival Adjudicators and Workshop Clinicians to work with teachers and students on projects and at events in the arts and cultural heritage.
In addition, the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador's Cultural Connections Strategy allows teachers throughout the province to apply for professional development in and through the arts and heritage. As outlined under the Cultural Connections Strategy there are a variety of projects (i.e. Learning Educating and Growing Arts and culture for Youth (LEGACY), Professional Learning in Arts and Culture with Ease (PLACE) available to meet teachers' arts related professional goals and learning opportunities.
To assist teachers and NLESD programs staff in finding qualified artists and tradition bearers in their local areas for submitted projects, the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District (NLESD) is seeking artists, clinicians, mentors who are interested in working with k-12 teachers and students at arts and cultural events throughout the year.
Please note that filling in this survey (link here and below) does not guarantee you will be selected to work with a teacher in your discipline, it merely indicates that you wish to be contacted should a project be available in an arts/heritage discipline that applies to you.
