Mahiba Khan is a Grade 8 French Immersion student at St. Paul's Junior High. In addition to being on the Principal's List for academics, her many interests make her a very well-rounded student. She is an active member of the school leadership team and volunteers her time with the Do It Crew that looks after the Kids Eat Smart program. She is in the school photography club and has demonstrated those skills at the Skills Canada Competition, receiving Intermediate Gold Member status and a provincial silver medal in Skills Canada photography competition.
With a keen interest in science, Mahiba is also a member of the school's two robotics teams (underwater and NXT). In the Eastern Regional Science and Technology Fair, Mahiba and her partner earned a special award from the Memorial University's Psychology Department and Association of Psychologists of Newfoundland and Labrador. She has been also been part of the Let's Talk Science Challenge Team for two years, with her team winning the coveted Spirit Award both years.
Most recently, Mahiba represented St. Paul's at the Regional Heritage Fair and was named to the prestigious Ambassador Program. As part of the award, she will join a number of other heritage fair award winners from across the province to visit France and Belgium, as part of the Trail of the Caribou tour, representing Newfoundland and Labrador.
Most importantly, Mahiba is a wonderfully friendly and outgoing person who will certainly appreciate and benefit from such a wonderful experience. Congratulations Mahiba - St. Paul's Junior High is very proud to count you among our amazing students!
